In the study, you will be asked to imagine a situation, listen to training information, navigate through an environment and then answer a series of survey questions. You will need to listen to audio files for this study. Your session should last 10 -20 minutes. Some of the content provided may be perceived as quite graphic, so you cannot participate if you feel negatively affected by a previous emergency situation that you have experienced (e.g., a large-scale emergency evacuation or a significant physical injury in the workplace).\u003Cbr\u003E\u003Cbr\u003E\u003Cb\u003ECompensation.\u003C\/b\u003E You will be paid &pound 2.25 for your participation in line with the UK living wage. \u003Cbr\u003E\u003Cbr\u003E\u003Cb\u003ERisks and benefits.\u003C\/b\u003E There are no known risks to participation in this study although the focus on health and safety training means that you cannot participate if you feel negatively affected by a previous emergency situation you have experienced. Other than the payment mentioned, there no tangible benefits to you.\u003Cbr\u003E\u003Cbr\u003E\u003Cb\u003EConfidentiality and use of data.\u003C\/b\u003E All the information we collect during the course of the research will be processed in accordance with Data Protection Law. In order to safeguard your privacy, we will never share personal information (like names or dates of birth) with anyone outside the research team. Your data will be referred to by a unique participant number rather than by name. All data will be anonymous and stored using the University of Edinburgh secure encrypted storage service at the University of Edinburgh, as well as a password protected Qualtrics account ding data collection. The anonymised data collected during this study will be used for research purposes and with your permission may also be used for research or teaching purposes, and may be shared with other researchers or with the general public (e.g., we will make the data available on the Open Science Framework and we may make it available through the world wide web, or use it in TV or radio broadcasts).\u003Cbr\u003E\u003Cbr\u003E\u003Cb\u003EWhat are my data protection rights?\u003C\/b\u003E The University of Edinburgh is a Data Controller for the information you provide.
